SoRA WEBINAR — Caring for Youth in the Age of Distraction: Teachers, Parents, and the Battle for Attention

We met on Tuesday, June 25th for a weeknight webinar featuring SoRA Faculty Jac Mullen’s latest research on the contradictions of PARENTING and TEACHING in the ATTENTION ECONOMY. (See his recent article for The Nation on attention formation in the classroom).

The webinar extended Mullen’s in-person seminar courses (THE GREAT REWIRING OF PARENTHOOD and THE LEARNING INDUSTRY) to friends of the SoRA community beyond NYC.

We also discussed ways for far-flung ATTENTION ACTIVISTS to get involved in our work, and to create “Sanctuaries of Attention” in their own communities.

The webinar convened from 8pm to 9:30pm EST on Zoom.
