Sidewalk Study: Amazonian Cosmologies in Prospect Park

  • Prospect Park Brooklyn, NY United States (map)

From JUNE SIDEWALK STUDIES: ~FUGITIVE UTOPIAS~

The Amazon has been subjected to countless utopian fantasies, often of a colonial tint. In this Study, we'll consider the Amazon as a site of resistance to these capitalist, colonial frameworks, with help from the poets, thinkers and spiritual leaders who call the region home. To discuss: the role of attention in earth-centered cosmologies and sacred ecologies. Prospect Park will stand in as our own forest; its trees will form the heart of our Practice.

Tuesday, June 18th: 7pm in PROSPECT PARK
