Sidewalk Study: "BETWEEN NOTHING and NOTHING…" on Wall Street

  • Wall Street Manhattan New York, New York (map)

From our AUGUST SIDEWALK STUDIES series: TACTICS of CARE

“BETWEEN NOTHING and NOTHING” on
Wall Street

"If destroying all the maps known / would erase all the boundaries / from the face of this earth / I would say let us / make a bonfire…"

We'll read South African poet and activist Keorapetse Kgositsile's* poem on the refugee crisis and consider the relation between attention and New York's ongoing refugee crisis. How do borders teach us to see? What quality of attention produces a home, for ourselves and others?

Wednesday, August 21st: 7pm in Wall Street

Keorapetse Kgositsile's "Anguish Longer Than Sorrow" with Nicholas & Quinn.

*Also, amazingly, the father of Earl Sweatshirt!
