Two months ago, our small non-profit moved into our first brick-and-mortar space at 55 Washington Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn. It's lovely: spacious, light-filled, and with windows that overlook the East River and the Manhattan Bridge. There's just one thing missing from our new Sanctuary...
WE NEED BOOKS!
That's right — we're making good on our dream of an Attention Reading Room, and we're doing it like we do everything else: with all our friends.
So as we ride this heat wave into summer, we invite you to SoRA's upcoming BOOK DRIVE // OPEN HOUSE. Come see our space, meet other attention activists, and donate a book (or two, or three) to our growing Attention Library!
What kind of books are we looking for? We are seeking books about attention, or books that represent a certain kind of attention (ethnographic, poetic, historical), or books that, for you, possess mysterious attentional powers. Books that you have cared for, and which have cared for you, and which are ready for a new home.
Even if you don't have a book to share, that's a-okay — we'd still love to see you!
To gain access to the Sanctuary this Saturday, please RSVP using this Google Form (we need to send you a code for the building's turnstiles). And if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
